Crypto Coffee Chapter by Grounded

Recently, we were invited to the inaugural Crypto Coffee Chapter, organised by Grounded. Grounded is a Singapore-based blockchain advisory founded in 2017 by Ngeow Jiawen and Jeremy Khoo. Crypto Coffee Chapter was organised to gather the Singapore crypto exchanges for a chit-chat session over coffee at The Providore.

At the event, we met our Singaporean friends of other crypto exchanges Biki, Sparrow Exchange, ZB, Liquid, Latoken, Exonium and ABCC. We recognised many familiar faces which we’ve previously met before at other crypto events – What a small crypto world!

To kick-off the session, each exchange shared a company introduction and several milestones which were recently achieved. For us, we shared our various notable achievements including the recent launch of the credit card payment scheme for crypto. We also highlighted our family-like company culture and dynamic environment in DigiFinex.

Next, the group went on to discuss various global issues such as the Hong Kong protests, Brexit, the launch of Facebook’s Libra and its implications on the crypto community. We also talked about the heightened prevalence of cyber attacks and stressed on the importance of cyber security. Many shared their tips and advice on how to prevent such cyber attacks.

It was great to see all the exchanges looking out for each other and how close-knit the Singapore crypto community has become. It was also heartwarming to witness how all the exchanges have a common goal of bringing crypto to the next level here in Singapore.

We thank Grounded for hosting such a successful event! It was great chatting with our old and new friends of the Singapore crypto scene. We hope that in future we are able to build more strategic partnerships with the various crypto exchanges in Singapore. See you guys again soon!
