EOS Parent Company Block.one Launching A Blockchain-based Social Media Platform
Eos (EOS) parent company Block.one announced a blockchain-based social media platform called Voice. The platform will use the EOS blockchain to provide transparency on how it operates, without hidden algorithms or content-pushing mechanisms of which the user is unaware.
In the press release, the CEO of Block.one, Brendan Blumer, compared Voice with traditional social media platforms, saying:
“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users. Just look at the business model. Our content. Our data. Our attention, these are all incredibly valuable things. But right now, it’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.”
Blumer says transparency will be a core part of the user experience. Every single contributor will play by the same rules, eliminating hidden agendas, sneaky algorithms, bot mobs and data tracking.
According to the official announcement,
“Voice is a more transparent social media platform for the world, where the value of good content gets circulated right back into sustaining the community, not corporate bottom lines.” [Source: CoinTelegraph & dailyhodl.com]
